Early American printing of William Roscoes classic biography of Lorenzo de Medici, the great Renaissance patron of art and learning. Printed in Philadelphia by Bronson & Chauncey in 1803. Full tree calf bindings with gilt spine bands. Roscoes work was one of the first English-language accounts to celebrate Lorenzos influence on Florences golden age, bringing Renaissance humanism to 19th-century readers. Rare to find this two-volume set complete.

Condition:
Both volumes present; expected foxing, edge wear, and cracked but intact hinges typical for 220-year-old leather.
